EUROPARC and its members
We are the foremost and largest NGO representing the protected areas of Europe, uniting national parks, regional parks, nature parks and biosphere reserves in 35 countries, with the common aim of protecting Europe's unique variety of wildlife, habitats and landscapes.
Our current 430 members are made up of professional practitioners caring for Europe's natural, cultural and iconic landscapes. They form a network of expertise which makes a valuable contribution to nature conservation and protected area management in Europe as well as to environmental governance internationally. For more information about our individual members visit www.europarc.org/who-we-are/our-members .
The advantages of becoming a member
- Membership of the EUROPARC Federation offers a wealth of opportunities to network, develop partnership opportunities and make contact with like minded professionals in your own country, across Europe and around the globe! Wherever possible, the Federation seeks to be a net benefactor for members in securing additional funding sources for our strategic goals: members would be first in line to take advantage of these adhoc funding opportunities.
- Reduced rates at EUROPARC conferences and training events, free publications, expertise exchange, information updates from the European Commission and other sources regarding protected area developments and access to network in exclusive member's area are amongst the membership benefits. In addition, our network offers involvement in special thematic interest groups.
- The EUROPARC Federation works efficiently with a network that has already established innovative methods of working in partnership to produce quality outputs with strong relevance to protected area management. Regional and National Sections of the Federation brings our strategic work across Europe closer to your protected area.
- As a member you would bring your organisation's own outlook and expertise to EUROPARC Federation projects and become a net contributor to the enhancement of European corporate responsibility in protected area management.

Please note that of January 2011 we have introduced a new category of membership, category F “supporting organisation” with an entry fee level of 200 Euros, with full access to all EUROPARC membership benefits. If you are already a member but due to substantial budget cuts are facing financial hardships, or one of the British AONBs currently paying a smaller fee without membership benefits, you may apply to the council for a change in your membership category, but please note the qualifying regulations in the document 'Members and Voting Rights' below. You will find more information about this change in the second document available.
After we have received your form it will be considered and approved by the EUROPARC Council. We will then get in touch with you to let you know whether your application has been a success and to send you and invoice for the membership fee (which will contain all the details on where and what to pay). The membership fee is valid for one calendar year.
