Junior Ranger Programme: Guidelines by EUROPARC Germany

The EUROPARC Federation Junior Ranger Programme is aimed at young people aged 12-18 who are living within or close to the protected area. EUROPARC Germany is one of the most active countries, with a Junior Ranger programme long established and defined. Learn more about the Junior Rangers Programme
 Since 2008, EUROPARC Germany is developing the Junior Ranger Programme within the National Natural Landscapes. As an educational program, the Junior Ranger Programme becomes an essential part of being a child in Germany. Children and young people learn to be enthusiastic about biological diversity. They actively engage in nature conservation and environmental protection and work together in a national Junior Ranger network.
In Germany, the programme was developed in 4 pillars – to offer children different ways to join the Junior Rangers:
  • “Junior Ranger Region” for children who live within the National Natural Landscape
  • “Junior Ranger Explorers” – for tourism and leisure activities
  • “Junior Ranger Web” for all users of new media
  • “Junior Ranger School” for use in schools

A brand new set of Guidelines at national level has been launched by EUROPARC Germany and is available in English – an insight into the programme that will give you inspiration for your Junior Ranger activities.
