UN World Health Day statement meets European Day of Parks idea

On the occasion of  World Health Day on April 7, 2012, Mr. Braulio Ferreira de Souza Dias, Executive Secretary of the CBD, published the attached statement. The importance and linkage with the theme of our upcoming European Day of Parks (May 24th) is clearly visible as Mr. de Souza Dias highlights that the "linkages between biodiversity and health" are most important for human health.

EUROPARC supports with many of its programmes the goal of "building a more sustainable relationship between human communities and the biodiversity that supports them".

At this year´s European Day of Parks EUROPARC members aim to enhance people´s experience in nature. Many activities and events are targetting to inspire people to visit parks across Europe and `See the sky. Touch a tree. Feel the air. Find yourself´.
