Global Summit on Sustainability

Sustainability is the latest buzzword in business lexicon. It applies to sustenance of the system in every facet of life. Sustainability is defined as the capacity of an eco-system to endure in the long run.  In ecology the word describes how biological systems remain diverse and self productive over time. Sustainability has three dimensions – economic, environmental and social.

The first ever Global Summit on Sustainability is being held on 29- 30 July 2010 at the National Liberal Club, 1 Whitehall Place in London .The theme of the summit is “Sustainability – Key to Driving Businesses in a Turbulent World”.

John Elkington , Founder of SustainAbility would deliver the keynote address. Other confirmed eminent speakers include Dr Mohammed Yunus, Nobel Economics(2006) , Jeremy Leggett Founder and Executive Chairman Solarcentury ,Adam Werbach Global CEO of Satchi , USA and author of Sustainability ,Rt Hon Baroness Verma, Minister for International Development, House of Lords , Lord Anthony Giddens, House of Lords UK  , Dr Olivier Giscard d’Estaing, Co-Founder of INSEAD, J R Tanti, Managing Director, Suzlon , Dr Ola Ullsten , former Prime Minister of Sweden , Suresh Prabhu, former Minister of Environment & Forests, Govt of India, Dr Madhav Mehra , President , World Council for Corporate Governance, David Grayson, Cranfield School of Management, UK and so on.It will be attended by leaders in businesses, finance, environment, parliamentarians, policy makers, academicians , jurist  and social thinkers from across the world .
