International Junior Ranger Camp
The EUROPARC Junior Ranger Programme was launched in 2002 as a pilot project embracing four partner parks. The network has grown ever since and boasted a total of almost 50 partners in 2008.
The main event of the network is the International Junior Ranger Camp, coordinated each summer by EUROPARC and hosted by one of the network members. This event is a great opportunity for many young people to gather, have fun and discover Europe's biodiversity. The international camps have proved a great success and candidates for hosting and participating in the event increase each year.
The Weerribben-Wieden National Park (Netherlands) will be hosting the 10th International Junior Ranger camp, from the 16th to the 23rd of July 2011.
6th International Conference on Environmental Future
The International Conferences on Environmental Future (ICEFs) are a distinguished series, the first of which preceded the historic 1972 Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment.
The 6th ICEF aims to explore the current and potential future extent and nature of interdisciplinary research and management practice across the environmental domain. Eighty speakers, from many countries have agreed to give presentations, and abstracts from up to 370 registered participants will be considered for oral or poster presentations. The 6th ICEF is a major international forum that will inform senior scientists, environmental managers and policy formers and encourage debate about 'interdisciplinary' progress in environmental science and management.
The Conference will take place in Newcastle University, United kingdom.

Verifyiers training for Transboundary Protected Areas and the Charter for Sustainable Tourism - available
Please note this event is for members only.
EUROPARC’s European Charter for Sustainable Tourism is internationally recognised as a planning and implementation tool to deliver sustainable and responsible tourism for protected areas. The core element of the Charter is working in partnership with all relevant stakeholders to develop a common sustainable tourism strategy. The aim of all Charter activities is the protection of natural and cultural heritage and the continuous improvement of tourism in protected areas. One of the most important aspects of the Charter that gives it credibility and integrity is that it is independently verified. The European Charter Network now counts with 78 protected areas from eight European countries and still growing.
Another aim of EUROPARC Federation is to encourage and facilitate inter-regional cooperation on nature protection issues, with a particular emphasis on supporting transboundary cooperation and establishing new protected areas in border regions. Our efforts on meeting the demand for guidance concerning the promotion of best practice in European transboundary cooperation focuses on the 'Transboundary Parks - Following Nature's Design' initiative. There are currently 15 certified EUROPARC transboundary areas.
The EUROPARC Federation is looking for new verifiers for the protected areas participating in these initiatives and is therefore offering a verifiers training from 21st – 24th July 2011 on the Island of Vilm (DE), with the generous support of the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation. Training costs will be covered.
