Our Council

The EUROPARC Council is elected every three years by the EUROPARC Federation's General Assembly composed of our membership. The current EUROPARC Council and President was just recently elected at the General Assembly of the annual EUROPARC Conference 2011 in the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve, Bad Urach, Germany on the 22th of September.
The President of the Federation is Thomas Hansson. Thomas works for the Swedish Environmental Agency. He can speak English and Swedish. Thomas was voted into this position on an overwhelming majority.
The council members are currently:
- Rolands Auzins (LV). Languages: Latvian, Russian, English
- Giampiero Sammuri (IT). Languages: Italian, English, Spanish
- Ignace Schops (BE). Languages:. Flemish, English, French
- Gabor Szilagyi (H). Languages: Hungarian, English
- Marian Woltgen-Jäger (NL): Languages: Dutch, English, French, German
- Dominique Leveque (FR). Languages: English, French
- Eric Baird (UK). Languages: English
- Paulo Castro (PT). Languages: Portuguese, English
The section representative for this period is Michael Hošek, President of the Czech Section.
