The Balaton-felvidéki National Park welcomes kindly the visitors to Csopak, to a pleasant walk on the Pele (Dormouse) Circuit, which was the first prize for the national prize competition “The year’s ecotourism educational trail 2013”.
This short nature trail can be found in the beautiful park that surrounds the office building of the Balaton-felvidéki National Park Directorate. The Dormouse Circuit interprets gardens as habitats for many animals, from ants to roe deer. The interactive trail shows us the living creatures that have adopted to human presence. The creek and the boulders exhibited in the park turn our attention to abiotic natural assets that surround us in settlements. Old type Hungarian fruit trees, a herb garden and a collection of bird houses are also part of the experience. You can picnic in the park and visit the shop of the National Park Directorate. A unique wooden installation, resembling the form of an ammonite fossil also awaits visitors and bring their attention to Bakony–Balaton UNESCO Global Geopark.
