On the occasion of the European Day of the Parks, the Prespa National Park is organising a guided tour for the local school “Dy Deshmoret” of the Municipality of Pusteci. The 5th-grade students will have the opportunity to learn about the history, culture, and nature of their environment. Mr. Vasil Male and Olsi Duma; chief specialists of the regional administration of protected areas of Korçë; have selected one part of the hiking trail network of Prespa Nationalpark to show to the children the beauty of the Park protecting the forests meadows and Prespa lakes which are among of the oldest lakes in the world. At this time of the year, the children may also see the emblematic bird of the protected area-the Dalmatian Pelican.
The guided tour will be integrated into a nature guide training, currently offered to different stakeholders of the region. The training is implemented by the Alfred Töpfer Academy for Nature Conservation and financed by the Ministry of Environment of Lower Saxony.
Prespa National Park receives continuous support of the Transboundary Biosphere Reserve Prespa Project, financed by KfW development Bank.
