European Day of Parks in Azerbaijan
24th May – is the European Day of Parks. On this day, 111 years ago, the first national parks were established in Europe. Today, for the time being, European Park Day symbolizes international solidarity in the protection of natural areas.
In the reason of the COVID-19 pandemic and implemented quarantine regime, Social-Ecology Center “EkoSfera” in conjunction with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and Republican Children and Youth Development Center under the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan are planning to organize the video-conferencing on 24th May 2020 for young participants of Ecoclubs. The conference will be covered with demonstrations from 10 national parks of Azerbaijan. Additionally, there are planned to take a place online meetings with the participation of European national parks’ representatives and video presentations for providing the familiarizing the children’s audiences with the protected natural areas, which represent the invaluable nature and cultural heritage of Europe.
