Retezat National Park - Building on our roots
The European Day of Parks is a day to celebrate and promote protected areas across Europe. Retezat National Park is the first national park established in Romania in 1935. It is very important to know the history of the area in order to be able to observe the progress and effort made over time by nature lovers and their success in protecting and preserving the natural values of the Retezat National Park. Growing stronger from our past: Building on Our Roots to protect and preserve nature’s future.
For European Day of Parks we will organize two events that will emphasize the importance of preserving the park’s natural resources and cultural heritage of its communities. We want to raise awareness of the need for conservation efforts and inspire visitors to become advocates for the park’s future.
