Drystone Walling Demonstration
Ancient drystone walls and field barns are defining features of the Dales landscape – shaped over thousands of years by people and nature. It is believed there are over 5,000 miles (8,000 km) of dry stone walls in the Yorkshire Dales, but not all of them are in tip-top condition.
Join Dales Volunteers as they showcase the traditional craft of drystone walling and explain the construction of this iconic feature of the National Park landscape. This is a unique opportunity to understand this age old craft. The price of attending this event is included in museum admission.
