STE(A)M festival
The 4th STE(A)M Festival, organized in Međimurje County will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Centre of Knowledge Međimurje. Now in its fourth year, the festival continues to bring together educators and performers to create engaging educational experiences for children.
This year’s program is centered around nature as a key theme, with a special focus on wild pollinators and their importance within ecosystems. The festival invites performers and educators to contribute by hosting interactive workshops or lectures across STE(A)M fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), with an emphasis on nature as the central concept.
Through a variety of interactive STE(A)M workshops and activities, children will explore biodiversity, learn about the significance of non-living nature such as soil, rocks, and minerals, and discover the crucial role of wild pollinators—including bees, butterflies, beetles, and other insects. Hands-on experiences, such as building insect hotels using natural materials, will encourage creativity while helping participants understand how small actions can support nature conservation.
By combining education, creativity, and environmental awareness, the STE(A)M Festival offers a meaningful opportunity for young participants to connect with nature and better understand the importance of preserving biodiversity.
