Weekend Bird Nestling Observation at Hortobágy Fishpond
Participants can take part in a 1.5-hour nature walk led by an expert guide. During the programme, visitors can learn about the unique features of the fishpond demonstration area and the species participating in the spring bird migration. They may also encounter greylag geese already leading their goslings or hear the songs of bluethroats. Using a high-powered spotting scope, participants can closely observe the vibrant spring birdlife of the wetland habitats.
The walks are approximately 2.5 km long. Weather-appropriate clothing and binoculars are recommended.
Location: Hortobágy Fishpond, Halászbárka Visitor Centre (turn off Highway 33 near the 67 km marker towards Hortobágy Fishpond, then continue for another 2 km).
Target groups: children, families, adults, students, and senior citizens.
The tour is organised as part of the European Day of Parks programme series.
