Talk and Guided walk on Protected Areas
An informative talk by NPWS Guides followed by a nature walk through the Special Protected Area to commemorate European Day of Parks.
Coole Park Garryland Nature Reserve currently spans 1000 acre (400 hectares) and includes a variety of habitats such as deciduous and evergreen woodland, wetland, grassland and Turloughs (seasonal lakes) and many of these habitats are important sights in a global context. The site is also part of a wider complex SAC, SPA and Ramsar site for wintering wetland birds. Other wildlife species living here include the Pine Marten, Red squirrel and Stoats. There are many rare butterflies and moths, and an abundance of beautiful and rare wild flowers and plant species.
We invite you to come and join us for a walk and talk about the importance of Coole Park Nature Reserve protected areas.
