Slavte s námi! Evropský den chráněných území
All four Czech National Parks (KRNAP, Šumava, Podyjí, and Bohemian Switzerland) have joined forces to celebrate the European Day of Parks with a single, unified voice. While each park hosts its own unique program, we share a common theme and coordinated communication to bridge our efforts into a single story. A vital part of this synergy is the active participation of local communities, highlighting the essential link between parks and the people living within them. From guided tours and creative workshops to live concerts, we target tourists, families, and outdoor enthusiasts. Below is the specific program organized by our national park as part of this joint and diverse national celebration.
On Sunday, May 24, the Krkonoše National Park invites you to celebrate the European Day of Parks with a diverse program across Vrchlabí and throughout the entire Krkonoše National Park. Visitors can enjoy free admission to several museums, such as the Jilemnice and Paseka museums, while entry to the Krkonoše Museum in Vrchlabí can be earned by completing a quiz. The Krtek Eco-center will feature a full-day program, including continuous screenings of educational nature films. In the monastery gardens, you can explore a local fair featuring regional snacks and authentic crafts. The event also offers unique experiences like guided tours of the local gene bank and the wildlife rescue center for injured animals. For those looking for adventure, there is a barefoot trail, guided tours of the monastery garden beds, and much more to discover throughout the day.
