In 2014, the EUROPARC Annual Conference:  “Understanding the value of nature”, took place from 28th September until  Wednesday, 1st October 2014, in Killarney, Ireland.

Integrated Management of Protected Areas – 2013

The 2013 conference was hosted by the Hortobágy National Park and in Debrecen, Hungary from October 9 – 13, 2013. The theme of the conference was Integrated Management of Protected Areas, but also the big celebration for both EUROPARC and Hortobágy celebrating 40 years of existence.

Reconnecting society and biodiversity – 2012

The 2012 Annual EUROPARC Conference was held from October 22nd until 25th 2012 in the Kempen and Maasland Regional Landscape in Genk, Belgium. The Protected Area encompasses Belgium’s only national park, Hoge Kempen, as well as the nature parks GrensPark Kempen-Broek and RivierPark Maasvallei.

The theme of this conference was ‘(RE)CONNECTING’: (Re)connecting nature with nature; people with nature; business with biodiversity; and policy with practice. In other words: (re)connecting society with biodiversity.

Quality management in protected areas – 2011

The EUROPARC Conference 2011 took place in the Schwäbische Alb Biosphere Reserve, Bad Urach, Germany from 21st – 25th September. Conference delegates took part in an innovative four days focused on the theme ‘ Quality Counts – Benefits for Nature and People’

Taking a closer look at biodiversity – 2010

In 2010 we were in Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise National Park (IT) from 29th September to 02nd October exploring the theme “Living Together. Biodiversity and Human Activities: A Challenge for the Future of Protected Areas”.

Celebrating 100 Years of Europes National Parks – 2009

In 2009 EUROPARC celebrated 100 years of national parks in Europe in Sweden, the home of the first national park in Europe from 09th-13th September. The official conference title was: 100 years of National Parks in Europe. A shared inheritance; A common future.
