We honour those who built our story and left us in 2023 by looking back to their generation with gratitude.

Prof. Dr Hans Köpp

Prof. Dr Hans Köpp, who worked closely together with Alfred Toepfer, was one of the founding fathers of EUROPARC and the editor of the EUROPARC bulletin from 1973-1985.

Dr. Rauno Väisänen

Dr. Rauno Väisänen was a two-time member of the Council. Founder and President of the Nordic-Baltic Section and recipient of the Alfred Toepfer Medal. A loyal supporter of EUROPARC, he remained an enthusiastic advocate of all international cooperation.
