Gruffalo’s Child themed woodland activity session
Join us at the The Dales Countryside Museum for a Gruffalo’s Child themed activity session during May half-term. Try your hand at whittling and learn new knife skills, build a shelter, and use flint and steel to start a fire. Take part in story time and listen to facts and folklore based on the fauna and flora from the story.
Make a clay model, play in the sand activity tray, or have a go at bead threading, with optional survival bracelet for older children. All finished off with campfire snacks of popcorn, marshmallows, and damper bread, washed down with campfire hot drinks, such as hot chocolate, tea and coffee.
Please note this is an accompanied activity. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is part of the European Day of Parks (EDoP). the theme this year is ‘Connected by Nature’. Storytelling events like this one help bring children closer to the natural world. It provides hands-on skills that build confidence and respect for the outdoors.
