Europe’s grasslands do not stop at national borders – and neither should their management.

From 8 to 12 June 2026, protected area managers, practitioners, and experts from across Europe will come together in Illmitz for the cross-border grassland management conference, a highly focused, hands-on event dedicated exclusively to transboundary grassland conservation and management.

Hosted jointly by Neusiedler See – Seewinkel National Park (Austria) and Fertő–Hanság National Park (Hungary), and co-funded by the Interreg Project GRACE, this meeting brings cross-border cooperation from theory into real-world practice.
