Respiro - Arte nell’aria del bosco - Riserva Naturale Monti Livornesi
“Respiro” – Art in the air of the wood – is an itinerant path where nature, art and music meet, giving visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the woods, to walk slowly, to observe, to be carried away by the works on display, to move in a natural space, to relax, to highlight your senses, the possibility of reconnecting with yourself and the nature of which we are part and we are one.
The motto of the European Day of Parks announced by Europarc and that we share a lot and feel in symbiosis with the proposed initiative, cites:
“We are Nature: RETHINK, RESTORE, RECONNECT”.
This is the main idea of the “Respiro”(“Breath”) – Art in the air of the forest – Monti Livornesi Regional Nature Reserve:
On closer inspection, nothing is trivial, nothing is taken for granted. However, there is nothing easier than forgetting just this. We are often forgetful of our vital functions such as breathing and we inhabit the environment around us without even noticing it. In breathing and living, we do not pay attention to the air that passes through us constantly or to the spaces that we cross without stopping. We breathe and live absently, mistaking the artificial for natural and the natural for artificial. But air and space are elements that are always present, strong, precise and distinct. We need to go back to find and pay attention to them, rediscovering their roles, functions and importance. If observed calmly, in fact, the air we breathe and the space we live in turn out to be active presences, artistic operators, vital factors, agents capable of giving shape to the things they pass through and host.
The air and space of the Mediterranean scrub forest that enlivens the hills of the Monti Livornesi Nature Reserve, in Nibbiaia, invite you to observe and cross them while, as absolute protagonists, they host and show works that someone has made just for them.
Crossing this habitat and being crossed by its artistic arias will be a panacea, an opportunity to change the air and to get in touch with the quite obvious effects given by the mixture of flora, fauna, works of art and music, so that you can admire the way in which space and air participate in the shaping of our artefacts.
The exhibition will be open from 23 to 27 May 2022 by reservation from 10 to 13 and from 16 to 20.
We involved the Nibbiaia nursery school “Una finestra sul mondo”, which will attend the initiative on the morning of May 26, knowing that these children, aged 3 to 5, are the seeds of the future.
