The 3days “Protecting water resources with nature-based solutions – PS4S-2023” international conference will be organized in the frames of the BSB963 funded project with the acronym “Protect-Streams-4-Sea” funded by the European Union’s Joint Operational Black Sea Programme 2014–2020. Drama City has a unique ecosystem in its urban setting. The Agia Varvara Springs area is a recreational riparian area that includes a natural pond along with natural underground springs and perennial streams all forming a high visited park. The site favors ecotourism and belongs to the pilot area of the project where nature-based solutions are proposed to monitor and control sediment and litter pollution. The conference includes a 1-day visit at the specific area for the European Day of Parks, among other interested places located in the pilot area of Aggitis River Basin. The conference (organized by International Hellenic University and ROOTS AMKE) will involve the participation of the project partners from 5 different countries (Greece, Turkey, Romania, Armenia and Moldova), other interested scientists, local and regional authorities, NGOs, university students, locals and generally stakeholders who are involved in various environmental sections and want to publish and disseminate their reseasch.
