Siggen Seminar is an annual event that EUROPARC has been running for five years thanks to the generous support of the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung, F.V.S.
Aimed at mid level Protected Area professionals, these seminars aim to convert theory into practice by bringing together individuals with different background and from different parts of Europe to share their knowledge, ideas and experiences. At the end of the two days, participants take away new perspectives and approaches to help them improve the effectiveness of their work in their own Protected Area.
Developing capacity with the Protected Area management community is a fundamental goal of EUROPARC, as this in turn will deliver more effectively managed and therefore conserved and protected natural heritage.
Therefore, EUROPARC focused its two days residential seminar in Siggen on the new EU programming period 2014-2020 and EU relevant funding for the management of Protected Areas. The Seminar is addressed to Protected Areas managers, senior staff (decision makers), project officers, members of development teams.
The seminar tackled some interesting areas of locating and successfully applying for funding with tips and tricks for writing applications. The event will be a great opportunity for a possible further development of ideas, joint projects and share of experience. Participant’s cases studies will be looked at and discussed. It will include formal training sessions, practical activities and will be an opportunity to exchange experiences on project management and development among Protected Area managers from different countries.
