12th to 19th July 2014, Krknose National Park (CZ)
“Following wilderness across boundaries”
Excursions, nature conservation activities on the field, games, workshops and experience exchanges: the best ingredients for a successful camp!
The camp gave the opportunity to participants to better understand the value of protected areas in Europe, while discovering a wonderful national park and having fun meeting old and new friends.
With the highest Czech mountain range, the Krknose National Park is a unique mosaic of ecosystems which have remained here as a reminder of the ancient glacial past.
The park is also a great example of transboundary cooperation for its successful partnership with its Polish neighbor, the Karkonosze National Park, both of them being certified as a EUROPARC Transboundary park. During the camp participants had the opportunity to discover how protected areas work together, following nature design across national boundaries, to preserve wilderness and the most valuable habitats and endangered species in Europe.
2014 International Junior Ranger Camp brought together Junior Rangers from 15 parks and 12 different countries in Europe to explore and discover how protected areas work in partnership across the borders.
