Hike “Mysteries of natural and cultural heritage in Kemeri National Park”
Featuring both – popular and less known elements of cultural and natural heritage in Ķemeri National Park, the hike will provide possibility to see the battlefields of World War I and II, discover the history of Communist Party leaders’ secret residence, learn more about the cultural history of grassland management and witness the process of making cultural history for next generations. The participants of the hike will also have a chance to monitor the progress of transformation of Zaļais Bog from a peat extraction site back into its natural shape of a raised bog due to recent restoration of the hydrological regime within the LIFE+ project “Restoring the hydrological regime of Ķemeri National Park” http://hydroplan.daba.gov.lv/public/eng/
