"Reconnect people with nature through nature Interpretation" - training workshop in park
There has been a clear and well-documented trend towards people spending less and less time outdoors, especially during this pandemic period. Anyone who cares about the protection of nature and natural protected areas should be alarmed by this – because there will be more people who do not value nature. What is even worse than young people, our future generation not valuing nature and not visiting it, who do not see nature as an asset that must be protected and managed in a sustainable way. Nowadays, almost all young people are not exposed to the wonders and inspiration that parks, trails, and rivers have long provided?
Therefore, nature interpretation is a tool that helps employees of protected areas, or recreational agencies, and parks to reconnect people with nature. Nature Interpretation provides tremendous resources for protected area specialists and information centers, tour guides, but also for teachers and other educators to inspire children to become skilled and well-informed visitors to natural spaces.
