Forestry excursion: Forest development from regulated (historical) forestry to a national park
This excursion in the Polenztal-Hohnstein area provides first-hand insights into developments in the resting area after the bark beetle infestation, traffic safety measures on hiking trails and management in the maintenance area through forest reorganisation and support for silver fir.
This area in the Saxon Switzerland National Park was selected in 2021 as one of only 13 in the whole of Saxony as a model area for integrative, nature-orientated forest management.
